International Moniuszko Festival in Kudowa Zdrój is a national festival devoted to the honor of the Polish national opera father - Stanisław Moniuszko. The artistic vision originated by Ms Maria Foltyn and continued by S. Pietras depends on confrontation of Moniuszko works with of other great European composers of his times. The organizers consciously create the disappearing custom of music lovers and creators meeting in a health resort. Such meetings are extremely valuable in spreading culture. To stress this cultural education aspect S. Pietras introduced to the festival traditions so called Moniuszko Workshops, which directly realize this aim. Taking part in the festival is often the beginning of a career of outstanding Polish talents. Very often those young artists continue their successful way on an international stage. It is promotion for Poland and Kudowa Zdrój. The festival, an important opera and cultural event, attracts media, politicians and businessmen from Poland and from abroad.
